Pick up & Drop off Procdures
Do you plan to pick up or drop off your Alberta Rider student? Our doors open each morning at 7:45 AM. Students can enter the building at the main entrance, the cafeteria and at the covered play area until 8:00 AM. After 8:00, all students must enter at the main office to get a tardy slip.
As part of our safety and security plan, adults including parents are not allowed into the building without prior approval and volunteer badge. This includes during drop off. Please plan to drop your student off at the door.
We know our parking lot can get busy, so please drive slowly and be patient. If you choose to park on a neighborhood street, please note the "no parking" signs along both sides of 132nd up to the crosswalk.
Drop off
Pick up
For end-of-the-day pickup please remember that parent-pickup is at the covered play area. We ask that all students being picked up wait under the covered play area (not on the playground) during this time.
For all car pickup please pull through the car line to our covered play area where a staff member will assist you in picking up your student.
If your student walks home we're going to ask them to leave promptly.
We know, especially with warm weather, our playground is a great place to play and connect. After a student has been picked up by an adult, they can stay and play (with parent permission and the adult present).
Food @ School
In TTSD we promote healthy eating by following the Oregon Smart Snacking Standards. This includes food we offer to all students through breakfast and lunch and also snacks in classrooms, for activities and throughout the day.
Click here to see what snacks are recommended along with ideas for non-food treats.
If you choose to celebrate your student's birthday at school, please send a non-food item for them to share. This could be a sticker, pencil, or bracelet for each student or a book or fun activity for the whole class to enjoy. Check-in with your child's teacher if you want to know more about celebrations in their classroom.
Students at Alberta Rider are not allowed to have food delivered to school by anyone other than their parent/guardian or a parent-approved person. We will not allow food delivery by other adults including delivery services like DoorDash. If you want to bring your student lunch, please make sure to drop it off with enough time for us to communicate with their teacher.
Dress Code
All students need to wear clothing to school that isn’t disruptive to school. Something would be disruptive if it distracted them or other students from focusing on learning or if it got in their way of doing school activities, like sitting at a desk, participating in classes like PE, going to the bathroom, and walking up and down stairs.
- No images or references to weapons, violence, drugs or alcohol
- No profanity or sexually explicit images or words
- No face paint or masks
Rainy Day Recess
During rainy weather our team works to balance the need to get students up and moving throughout their day with ways to keep students safe and regulated. Unfortunately when it is actively raining the undercover play area is our only outdoor space. On particularly rainy days we roll out our rainy day recess rotations. Each class is assigned one location (two empty classrooms and one outdoors). On repeat days classes will rotate through the next location.
Sickness/Injury- When Can my Child Return to School
If you child breaks a bone, goes to the emergency room or has surgery we will need a doctors note listing any restrictions to their activity and the length of time for these restrictions signed by the doctor.
If your child is ill. -- fever, cough, headache, vomitting, diarrhea... Go to this link for information on when your child may return to school.

Medication Policy
Our school district's medication policy requires that adults be in control of medication at all times in the school setting.
- Only parents/guardians can deliver a student's medication to school. Students may not bring their medications to school and deliver them to the office. Although this may be inconvenient, it is necessary to comply with our policy to ensure our students' safety.
- All medications must be in the original container with the original label (the label is not allowed to be changed by parents/guardians).
- Prescription medications must include the correct dosage and time to be given.
- In the case of over the counter medication, the dosage must be appropriate to the student's age and weight as indicated on the label.
- Before a medication can be given at school, you must complete the Medication Administration form available in the main office.
We thank you for your cooperation and know you will appreciate the necessity of these measures to keep our students safe.
